Over centuries, the great
Himalayas have attracted trekkers. Trekking creates a spirit of adventure and provides wonderful opportunity to come in contact with nature. It also adds to ones knowledge about environment, flora and fauna etc. Trekking acts are instrumental in developing the mind and the body and more so over in building ones personality. Trekking in Himachal Pradesh is quite enjoyable. It is due to the development of light weight equipment & clothing kits. It has now becomes easy to explore the remote mountains of Himachal Pradesh. These are situated between the
Pirpajal and great Himalayan range. There are more than 110 trekking routs in Himachal
Pradesh. Kullu Manali & Dharamshala Palmpur are the well known ones. There are 4 rivers flowing north west in four famous valleys namely the river Beas originating from Rohtang pass & flow to Kullu valley, River Chenab originating from huge snow bed on the south eastern side of the Baralacha Pass, River Ravi rises from Raigarh glacier at foot of Makerlike & Shikerbha Peaks. Himachal Pradesh consists of number of
passes which conect the valleys and make good trekking route . It would be noted or
suggested to the Foreigners that before coming to these areas one must inform the
Institute of Trekking agents for the arrangement of equipments etc. well in time. |
