| 1. PAHALGAM TO KOPAHOI GLACIER |
This is the
trekkers favorite route and is one of the most extensively traveled one. This trek
involves camping en route, as hotels etc. will be not easily available. Tents and other
camping Day 2 sees you at Lidderwat, a beautiful campsite with breath taking scenery. Here, the Glacier stream meets the stream from Tarsar Lake. There are a couple of rest houses around for those interested. The 3rd day is to walk up to the lake and back to Lidderwat. The Glacier is situated at 4000 meters and is quite a steep climb. Day 4 is utilized in walking straight back to Pahalgam, covering the whole distance in a one-day trek. One can extend the trek by a day by going to the Tansar Lake and back from Lidderwat. One can also go to the Kulan valley in Sonemarg, if there are a couple of days to spare. |

3. SONAMARG TO WANGAT![]() This is a long and tiring trek, which covers a distance of almost 81 kms. The trek starts at Sonamarg, which is connected by bus from Srinagar and then climbs to Nichinar where it crosses a mountain chain and heads to a beautiful and isolated campsite called Krishansar. Day 3 to 4 sees through crossing another high pass at almost 4191 Mts. to reach the Gangabal Lake. From here it is a steep descent to Wargat from where a bus is available back to Srinagar. |

| 4. GANGABAL TREK |
This trek is
almost like the above-mentioned trek except for the fact that it approaches Gangabal from
the other side. The trek is of 5 days and starts from Errin to the North of Wular Lake.
Day 4 is the most difficult and ropes and ice Axes are needed to cross a difficult Glacier
between Kundsar and Gangabal lakes. The final days trek leads to Wangat. |

| 5. KONSARNAG TREK |
This is a short and interesting trek through the South of Kashmir that leads into the Pir Panjal range. Konsarnag is a beautiful lake with deep blue waters and is situated at 3700 meters elevation. |

| 6. DAKSUM TO KISHTWAR This trek covers an interesting route, which leads to Jammu. From Kishtwar it is possible to trek into the Zanskar valley or if is possible to trek into the Zanskar valley or if one is interested, into virgin territories in Himachal. The trek starts from the valley of Daksum, about 100 kms from Srinagar, south of Kashmir valley. The trek reaches its maximum elevation near Sinthan pass. |

| 7. PAHALGAM TO PAMIKAR |
This is a difficult and arduous trek. For the first 2 days the route followed is that of the Amarnath trek. After that, on the 3rd day one has to cross the Gulol Gali pass and climbs to Lonvilad Gali. Then there is a steep ascent from the Chalong Glacier to Pamikar. Finally it leads to the Sun Valley which opens up into Zanskar. |

| DRASS
TO SANKU This trek is
in fact an alternative route to the road down from Kargil. The trek goes into the furn
valley and joins the Kargil to Padum road at Sanku. There is a road leading to Padum which is however inaccessible for some
part of the year. The first days trek/travel is on a bus to Sanku. Many important
Gompas are crossed during the trek and during the last day you pass by the Sani Gompa, one
of the most important and beautiful ones in the Zanskar valley. The trek is quite
interesting and offers fantastic photographic opportunities. |

Initially, this 10-day trek was tough going even for the most experienced of trekkers. But with the opening of a Motorable road between Leh and Manali, it has become relatively easy. Some regions are restricted for foreigners. On the 2nd day one crosses the Baralacha la, a double pass that is at an elevation higher than any European mountain. Therefore acclimatization is a must. |
