There are different levels of treks available both within Kashmir and from Kashmir to Ladakh or Zanskar. However, some of these routes are militant infested and not safe. Also, some route pass through strategic areas and Army permission is required before embarking on such a venture.

These treks can be very difficult and tiring even for some of the more seasoned trekkers. One should acclimatize before embarking on any trek. Also, the basic supplies should be purchased beforehand as the treks are through remote regions with no places to purchase the supplies.
