Khirsu is a very beautiful town and the adjoining thick oak and deodar forests make it more serene. The apple orchards are a big attraction here. The snow-laden mountains of Khirsu are a major attraction in winters. In summers one can get a clear view of the central Himalayas from Khirsu from where 300 named and unnamed peaks are visible.
Khirsu is located 19 kms from Pauri and is at a height of 1700 Mts.

Pauri (19Kms.) Situated at an elevation of about 1814Mts.above sea level on the northern slops of Kandoliya hills, Pauri district the headquarters provides a panoramic view of Bandarpunch, Swargrohini, Jonli, Gangotri Group, Jogin Group, Thalaiya Sagar, Barte Kanta, Kedarnath, Kharcha Kund, Sumeru, Satopanth, Chaukhamba, Nilkanth, Gauriparbat, Haatiparbat, Drongiri, Nanda Devi, Trishul. Places of interest around Pauri are Kandoliya (2 Kms.) Kyunkaleshwar Shiva Temple (3 Kms.), Ransi Stadium (3 Kms.), Nagdevta (3Kms.) a walk along 4 kms. Long road from Kandoliya to Buwakhal through oak and pine forests is really refreshing.

Dewalgarh (22Kms.) established in the 14^th century, it was the capital of Garhwal Raja before being shifted to Srinagar. The temples of Goddess Raj Rajeshwari and ruins of an old place are unique examples of architecture of Garhwal.

Dhara Devi (48Kms.) Situated on the Srinagar-Badrinath highway on the bank of Alaknanda, Dhara Devi is believed to be the ancient "Kali-Sidh peeth".

Ulkha Giri is a 2 Kms. drive to Chaudatakhal and then a 2 Kms. easy trek. This panoramic place commands a magnificent view of mountains and valleys, at an altitude of 1900 Mts.
