Kausani Kausani is a tourist's paradise, situated in the middle Himalayas near Almora. Surrounded by thick, dense coniferous forests, this place gives a panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas in all its grandeur. | Uttarayani Fair | This fair is organized on the occasion of Makar Sankranti (January 14th) every year. The fair attracts huge crowds of devotees, as this place has been held to be as pious as a holy dip in the Ganga at Varanasi. The confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomati and Bhagirathi have been regarded as a sacred place of pilgrimage for ages. On the occasion of Uttarayani festival approximately 35,000 devout Hindus bathe in this holy confluence. |
