Shyamla Tal is very beautiful place in the region. A blue colored lake in this region is a very pleasing place to be in. this lake is vast as it is spread over on an area of about one and half sq. kms. The Ashram of Swami Vivekananda is situated at the bank of this lake.

This place also houses some ruins, which date back to the days of early Chand rulers. Some ruins found here have also been linked with Pandavas.

Shyamla Tal is located at height of 1500 Mts. above sea level. It is at distance of 132 kms. from Pithoragarh and 56 kms. from Champawat. Shyamla Tal is famous for its Jhula Fair and unusual varieties of roses.
