SOME OF THE CUSINES & RECIPIES OF MAHARASHTRA

There are various cheap Iranian cafes, dhabbas and restaurants around MAHARASHTRA. The numerous wad side kiosks offering Pav-Bhaji (unstructed buns and vegetables), Bhel–Puris and chats all around MAHARASHTRA. One can get to eat South Indian Idli, Dosa, Sambhar or North Indian Punjabi food like Rajma, Makki ki roti with Saag, Cholle Bhature, Gujrati – Dhokla etc. as well as international cuisines in the various restaurants across MAHARASHTRA. It all depends which restaurants one chooses to go, according to ones taste, needs and the money in the pocket. Some of the recipes of typical MAHARASHTRA dishes are as follows: -

BHEL

Mix roasted Murmura, Crusted Khakra, 2 boiled potatoes, 1 chopped tomato and one finely chopped onion. Add green coriander, pudina (mint leaves) chutney and sweet date chutney with ½ cup of dry roasted granules. Mix and serve. It is a very easy dish yet so tasty and popular amongst the MAHARASHTRIANS and the non- MAHARASHTRIANS alike.

DAHI MISAL

Mix boiled Moong, Math and Chana Sprouts (all pulses), crushed Khakras, Curd, 1 boiled Potato, Sweet Chutney, Green Chutney with ½ cup dry roasted granules.

Mix and serve.

BHAJYA

Make a batter of Chana and Flour. Add salt, chili powder and coriander. Dip soaked chunks in batter and deep fry.

This is eaten hot with Pav or unsweetened Bun. This is a cheap & tasty food easily available at every nook and corner of Maharashtra.
