ItankiLocated in the Kohima district of the state of Nagaland is the ITANKI NATIONAL PARK. The park is located in an area of 202 sq.km, at an estimated altitude of 677m. The vegetation can be classified as subtropical forest. The Tragopan Kaleej Pheasant and Wild Elephants represent the wildlife in the park. Besides the former, there are many more species of the avian kingdom. But it enjoys special status as an elephant reserve. The nearest town is KOHIMA and the nearest railway station is at DIMAPUR. The nearest airport is also at DIMAPUR. Accommodation for visitors to the park is in KOHIMA. |
